Today we have Sly as Judge Dredd by Shawn Surface. Shawn is an all-around nice guy and his art should be getting more attention. This is the first of three pieces that I recently picked up from Shawn. The other two will be posted in the coming weeks. Until then, why not check out his site and give him some love?
Empire has an area devoted to movie poster mash-ups. In the Sylvester Stallone section there are several very clever posters. Here are three of my favorites. – Craig

On March 29, 2012, Dolph Lundgren was quoted for Empire confirming that Expendables 2 will be R-rated.
- “I heard that it’s now R again,” says Dolph. “Stallone’s basic setting is to make it very violent. That’s just in his personality, and if it was me I would do the same. I guess the producers figure they can make another $50m if it’s PG-13, and if it was my money I might say the same thing! But I think for the fans, if it’s tougher it’s better.”

The photo above is a StalloneZone exclusive vintage shot of Sly, Mr. T and our own Papa Stas aka BaseballStas. Stas’ daughter came across the photo and thought that we’d get a kick out of it. She was right! - Craig
Mike Torrance aka The Krayola Kidd scores a “Victory” with his take on Sly as Captain Richard Hatch from one of Sly’s most under-rated movies.
You can see more of Mike’s art at The Daily Sketch with The Krayola Kidd and his Deviant Art site. Mike is available for commissions and his prices are very reasonable.
Although we’ve been posting up news about Sly’s involvement in the development of the Choas pen for Montegrappa for some time now, it became news again this week at:
On March 21, 2012, Complex posted a ranking of The 50 Best Action Stars in Movie History. While I would argue with the placement of some of their selections, I do agree with their placement of Sly Stallone in the #1 spot. - Craig
Last week’s confirmation from Sly that the Expendables 2 would be “R” rated was widely reported:
This week we have Sly from Expendables 2 by Tom Hodges. I discovered Tom’s art through his DA site. I saw that Tom was going to be drawing live on UStream so I commissioned several sketches. Tom still draws regularly on UStream and it’s always a blast watching him sketch and interacting with the crowd.
