The Expendables Ghost Teaser

Here’s a link to The Expendables teaser trailer that started running earlier this week.

There is also another shorter teaser that I saw running on a Movie Trailers On-Demand channel through Bright House.  It was very short and consisted of Sly‘s voice with still shots of the cast.  I have not been able to find it anywhere else.  When I do, I’ll post a link.  Some fans are calling it the “Ghost Trailer” because Sly refers to The Expendables as ghosts in it, and no one can find it!

Rocky & Drago: Most Memorable Sports Characters

The BleacherReport.com recently posted their choices for The 20 Most Memorable Sports Movie Characters.

There is no surprise that Rocky Balboa made the list.  Here’s what they had to say…

Sylvester Stallone’s legendary boxing role is one of the most memorable roles in any film in any genre. It wasn’t Stallone’s first role, but it is the job that launched him into an epic Hollywood star.

The interesting addition to the list is that Ivan Drago also made the cut!  Here’s why…

Stallone’s Soviet counterpart in Rocky IV makes the list because he is one of the most infamous antagonists in sports film history.

Dolph Lundgren, who played Drago, fit the bill perfectly as the intimidating, steroid-infused, Red boxer through which the Patriotic Rocky sought vengeance.

Sly Makes the Financial News

The photo above of Sly appears in a May 27, 2010 article at FinancialPost.com in a story about Ken Starr, a financial adviser who had many celebrity clients.  According to the article Starr was arrested and accused of fraud, money laundering and lying to a federal officer as part of a $30-million fraud. This won’t be the first time Starr is in court.

Sylvester Stallone sued Kenneth Starr in 2002, claiming Mr. Starr’s financial advice caused him to lose US $10-million on the stock of Planet Hollywood International Inc., a theme-restaurant chain.
