Frank: Wrestling Champ?

A date of October 18, 2008 [at 8pm] has been set for the premiere of Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling. This new reality series follows ten celebrity contestants as they are trained to be professional wrestlers. At the end of each episode the contestants will be judged by Hulk Hogan, wrestling promoter Eric Bischoff and wrestling manager Jimmy Hart. On the last show of the season, one of the contestants will be crowned the “All-Star Wrestling Champion.”

Contestants include: Frank Stallone [singer/actor]; Danny Bonaduce [actor/radio host]; Dennis Rodman [NBA star/former wrestler]; Dustin “Screech” Diamond [actor/comedian]; Todd Bridges [actor]; ButterBean [boxer]; Trishelle Cannatella [actress]; Erin Murphy [actress]; Tiffany [singer]; Nikki Ziering [Playboy playmate].

Balboa Band

Remember the cover band, Balboa that we covered here? They were the group that loved Rocky so much that they decided to name their band, Balboa and play songs from Stallone movies [mostly the Rocky series]. Well, they are still going strong and were profiled by ChartAttack on Thursday. You can read the full piece here. – Craig

Sly has signed a one year deal reportedly worth a million bucks to appear in tv and print ads for Synergy’s Russian Ice vodka. The ad designed around Sly will have the tagline: “There’s a bit of Russian in all of us.” Sly’s great-grandmother comes from the Ukranian town of Odessa. The ads are set to appear starting on September 1st.
