The odds of The Contender<\/b>\u00a0returning next season are looking better all the time. On\u00a0Monday<\/b>,\u00a0July 18th<\/b>,\u00a0ESPN<\/b>\u00a0announced<\/b><\/a>\u00a0it was\u00a0close to acquiring the rights for a\u00a0second\u00a0season<\/b>\u00a0of “The Contender.”<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

My guess is that if\u00a0ESPN<\/b>\u00a0picks it up,\u00a0Sly<\/b>\u00a0won’t\u00a0appear each week. I say this for two reasons: 1]\u00a0ESPN<\/b>‘s budget won’t match\u00a0NBC<\/b>‘s and 2]\u00a0Sly<\/b>\u00a0is gearing up for some major film work.<\/p>\n
