The extremely talented, extremely nice, Gene Gonzales<\/strong> created his take on Sly<\/strong> from “The Lords of Flatbush”<\/strong> at the recent FX <\/strong>show.\u00a0 Big John Beatty<\/strong> had requested that he have a table near Gene<\/strong> and it was a great move.\u00a0 Gene <\/strong>is funny, knowledgeable and really nice.\u00a0 [Did you hear that somewhere before?]<\/p>\n

Although many artists said the FX <\/strong>show wasn’t as busy as they’d hoped, Gene<\/strong> was constantly signing autographs and sketching for fans.\u00a0 At one point Gene<\/strong> even surprised me by singing the promotional song for “Lords of Flatbush.”<\/strong> That sealed the deal — I asked him if he would draw Sly<\/strong> as Stanley<\/strong> and Gene<\/strong> came through with flying colors.<\/p>\n
