Will Sly<\/strong> return to the role of Gabe Walker<\/strong> for “Cliffhanger 2”<\/strong>? There’s renewed speculation that it could become a reality. Alex Billington<\/strong> of FirstShowing.net<\/strong> attended a screening of the 1987<\/strong> cult classic “Monster Squad”<\/strong> and in attendance were the film’s writer, Shane Black<\/strong> and director, Fred Dekker<\/strong>. During the Q&A session, Dekker<\/strong> said he was currently working on the screenplay to “Cliffhanger 2”<\/strong>.\u00a0 Unfortunately, Dekker<\/strong> didn’t elaborate on the screenplay, so we don’t know\u00a0much else.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Cliffhanger 2”<\/strong>\u00a0could be written as a starring vehicle for Sly<\/strong>, it could be written as a reboot with a cameo by Stallone<\/strong>, or even with totally new characters.\u00a0 \u00a0One of the things that was shocking about the original was that it opened with a failed rescue and what could have been a major character died.\u00a0 They wouldn’t kill off Gabe<\/strong> in the opening would they?\u00a0 Of couse, that, like most everything else in FirstShowing.net’s post<\/a><\/strong> and SlashFilm.com’s follow up<\/a><\/strong> is pure speculation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
