There are a lot of rumors floating around the internet that Sly<\/strong> is planning to make a seventh “Rocky”<\/strong> film.\u00a0 This story appears to have started with the posting of this piece<\/a><\/strong> at TeenSay.Co.Uk.\u00a0<\/strong>That article says that Sly<\/strong> told Tele5<\/strong> in Germany<\/strong> [with no link to the original piece or video]:<\/p>\n

“I know I’ll probably make a fool of myself if I make another ‘Rocky’ film after turning 60… I also know there’s gonna be a lot of criticism. Even my wife says, ‘Don’t do it…’…\u00a0\u00a0But I also know that I’d be successful if I can make this a film about becoming older, not about boxing but about myself.” <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Several sites have picked up the story and run with it.\u00a0 It sounds to me as if the Sly<\/strong> quotes were made BEFORE he began filming “Rocky Balboa”<\/strong>.\u00a0 I really don’t think that Sly<\/strong> plans to return to “Rocky”<\/strong> again since the last film was such a fitting tribute to the character and a perfect bookend to the orginal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, there is always a small chance that Sly<\/strong> would.\u00a0 I remember when filming was starting on “Rocky II”<\/strong> and Sly<\/strong> told an interviewer that he felt it would be interesting to revisit Rocky<\/strong> every five years or so and see what was happening in his life.\u00a0 He went on to say that the movies would move away from boxing and\u00a0the drama would come from\u00a0Rocky’s life<\/strong>, not who he was fighting.\u00a0 Sly<\/strong> added that\u00a0to\u00a0follow a character in movies like that\u00a0would be a first and might be interesting to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So perhaps Sly<\/strong> is thinking about another “Rocky”<\/strong> film.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I’d say odds are against it and don’t believe it until you hear it from Sly<\/strong> or reported here.\u00a0 ; )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
