Although <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sly<\/font> was <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">not<\/font> in <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">attendance<\/font> at court [nor required to be], he <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">issued the following statements<\/font> through his lawyers, &#8220;I made a terrible mistake, not because I was attempting to deceive anyone but I was simply ignorant to your official rules&#8230;  I feel terrible that my breach of the rules has set a poor example to members of the public, whose opinion I cherish dearly&#8230;  I have never supported the use of illegal drugs or engaged in any illegal activities in my entire life&#8230; Years ago I was diagnosed with a condition and my doctors prescribed human growth hormone and testosterone for its treatment. Under medical supervision I have continued to use both medications.&#8221;   <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sly<\/font> went on to say that he was carrying large amounts of <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">HGH<\/font> because he was <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">going to be on location<\/font> for <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">three months in Thailand<\/font> while filming <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u201cJohn Rambo.\u201d<\/font>  Sly\u2019s attorney said that <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sly<\/font> has been taking <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">HGH<\/font> under <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">medical supervision<\/font> for at least <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">six years<\/font>, and <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">did not realize<\/font> that he <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">needed a license<\/font> to bring them into <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Australia<\/font>. <\/font><\/div>\n<p><font face=\"arial\"><font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sly<\/font> is scheduled to <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">receive his sentence<\/font> on <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Monday<\/font>.  Most likely he will receive a fine.   <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sly<\/font> faces a <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">maximum penalty<\/font> of <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">$18,000<\/font> on each of the <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two <\/font>charges.  <font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Jail time<\/font> is<font style=\"font-weight: bold;\"> not an option<\/font> since the matter is being heard locally.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, May 15, 2007, Sly had his lawyers enter a \u201cguilty\u201d plea in regard to the recent charges of importing vials of human growth hormone into Australia.
