Stallone: Key to Wiretap Case<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

A report issued yesterday<\/span><\/a><\/b> by United Press International<\/b> states that Sly Stallone<\/span><\/b> is expected to be a key witness in the government’s wiretapping case against <\/span><\/b>Anthony Pellicano<\/span><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Pellicano<\/span><\/b>, a Hollywood<\/b> private eye<\/b>, is facing illegal wiretapping charges brought forth by the government. Pellicano<\/b>, whose clients included some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry<\/b>, was charged earlier this month with wiretapping people he was investigating as well as his own clients!<\/p>\n

As to Sly<\/b>‘s role in the case, according to the federal indictment<\/a><\/span><\/b>, Pellicano<\/b> and his associates allegedly illegally wiretapped or attempted to intercept Sly<\/b>‘s phone calls. What makes this even more interesting is that the federal grand jury<\/b>‘s indictment refers to calls to\/from a “Johnny Friendly<\/b>.” According to the UPI<\/b> report “Johnny Friendly<\/b>” is a name often used by Sly<\/b> when he travels. [“Johnny Friendly<\/b>” was a dishonest union boss played by<\/span><\/b><\/a> Lee J. Cobb<\/b> in the Marlon Brando<\/b> classic “On the Waterfront.”<\/b>]<\/p>\n

So far there has been no comment from Sly<\/b> and no verification from the US Attorney’s Office<\/b> that Sly<\/b> is in fact “Johnny Friendly.”<\/b><\/p>\n
