    Do you know why all of the training footage shows Rocky in heavy clothing? Initially, when he was doing the pull ups, I assumed it was because of cold weather and to accentuate that the character had been out of shape.

    But, why is he wearing the heavy sweats in the gym too?

  19. Sylvester Stallone once took a plunge off the side of a mountain (at least part of the way) while filming First Blood, breaking ribs during the fall. He recieved bruised kidneys, bruised ribs, torn pectoral muscles and abdominal muscles during the filming of Rocky II. (I once read in a biography that Stallone spent 8 months filming and coreogrphing and editing the fight sequence in Rocky II). In Rocky IV Dolph Lundgren nearly killed him with a body shot so hard that it caused his heart to swell. Over the years Stallone has put himself through hell to give the fans what they want. Think it’s hard now squatting 500 pounds? Try it at 60!The quads are the strongest muscles in the body. There’s no reason to believe a man in Stallones condition couldn’t squat 500lbs. Let’s give the man the benefit of the doubt and say the damn weight is real!!!

I think lately Sly had been training with heavy weights,he wasn’t doing this kind of heavy squat in the 80`s (and he is now a BIT older,he,he…AWESOME!!).The guy behind him is Gunnar Peterson,the owner of the vip gym in wich Sly had been training in the last years.Impresive scene…CAN`T WAIT…

    I love what they did with the lighting in these training shots. Even in the trailer ya have Duke punching his palm delivering his soon to be famous ” hurtin bombs” line and the dust and powder just floating in that interesting light.

    This movie is going to be so great. Fans are going to go back and see this over n over in record numbers. Fans have been WAITIING and the world needs a good shot of Rocky excitement too.

    First I hear Sly was gonna do a sixth, n I was like damm..but how, n what would it be like? Now I’m like damm, This has to be tha bombest of all endin film series, ya feel mea’! All them haterz can now see tha millions come in on this one! Sly is tha Bomb!!!!

    I believe it is so he sweats, so he would lose weight, and get more cut, also it IS comfortable to train in sweats, but again so he sweats to lose fat+water weight ..just a humble opinion

  47. i’ve been boxing for 10 years a lot of people cuss stallone for not being a proper boxer……stallone has heavy sparred some of the best in the world so he no’s the game alright to answer the question about his sweats the reason boxers do it is so they can break down the fat levels and water retention whilst training plus sweats hold the water in so as your training session continues the clothes get heavier thus making for a more intense all over workout.this film is goin to be so important for the whole rocky story could we please have some shots of the fight sequence so i can get a decent desktop image thanks go rock go!!!!
