“Bullet to the Head” Breakdown

On October 4, 2012, The Guardian posted a detailed look at the Bullet to the Head trailer along with screen shots of Sly pulled from it. Here are a few quotes…

  • Bullet to the Head: no one messes with Sylvester Stallone
  • No more backward-looking action movies for Sylvester Stallone!
  • Until now, Sylvester Stallone’s comeback has been unshakably rooted in nostalgia; either for himself (the Rocky and Rambo sequels) or for a lost age of knuckleheaded action films (both installments of The Expendables). But now, finally, Stallone has chosen to stand on his own two feet again.
  • Stallone is incontestably its star…

Winona Ryder on Location for “Homefront”

On October 3, 2012, TooFab posted a gallery of shots of Winona Ryder on location for the filming of Homefront.  Here are a couple of tidbits:

  •  The 40-year-old actress was snapped on the set of her next movie with Jason Statham, “Homefront,” looking sexy with a tight leather jacket…  The Sylvester Stallone-penned movie is only the next step in a return to the spotlight for Ryder, who has been keeping a relatively low profile since her ’80s/late ’90s heyday.

Sly’s in Arnold’s Army by Randy Jennings

Randy Jennings is a die-hard Arnold Schwarzenegger fan.  Randy runs the TheArnoldFans, the #1 Arnold Schwarzenegger fan site in the world.

Why am I writing about Randy and Arnold here, you ask?  (And I’m glad you did.)  Because Randy is also a Stallone fan and my guess is that Randy’s new book, Arnold’s Army will appeal to Stallone fans as well as those of the Austrian Oak

Randy provides an entire chapter to the Stallone – Schwarzenegger feud that ran for years.  Randy also covers the subsequent friendship of the two action superstars, Arnold’s appearance in The Expendables and Expendables II and his co-starring role with Sly in The Tomb

I’ve had the good fortune to get an advance look at Arnold’s Army and give it a thumb’s up. – Craig

Alexis Ziritt and Rambo

Alexis Ziritt makes his first appearance in my Stallone Theme Sketch Collection. Alexis is the co-founder of Fistful Apparel and the indie comics co-op Calavera Comics. When I saw that Alexis was taking sketch card commissions, I decided to get on board for a couple.  I asked Alexis to pick two from Jack Carter, John Rambo and Cobra Alexis liked the theme and decided to do all three.

You can see more of Alexis’ art here.
