This Jack Carter piece was created by Derec Donovan through his Whatnot page. I’ve been a fan of his for years. Derec’s western/zombie mashup, Trigger Mortis should be on every cowboy/zombie fan’s bookshelf. This is my first piece by Derec, but hopefully it won’t be my last.

Dwight Manfredi is The “Tulsa King” by Ryan Cody!
That’s Ryan Cody’s riff on Sly Stallone as Dwight Manfredi from The Tulsa King. When Ryan ran his Kickstarter for Old Man Thunderpunch, I jumped on board for a sketch option and the result is what you see.
Ryan is a comic creator (writer, penciler, inker, colorist) and podcast host with Scott Godlewski on The Illustrious Gentlemen. You can see more of Ryan’s art here.
Ray-Anthony Height Gets Carter (with an interesting story)
Today we have Sly Stallone as Jack Carter by Ray-Anthony Height. It’s my third piece from Ray-Anthony and it has an interesting story.
My buddy, John Higashi was at a convention. He saw this piece on display at Ray-Anthony’s table. John told RAH that he had a buddy, Craig Zablo, who collected Stallone sketches. RAH said that the art was originally for Craig, but that it got lost. So he refunded Craig the money. RAH later found the sketch and decided to see if it would sell at the convention.
And it did.
I’ve darkened the piece a bit for display here
Jack Carter by Nate Niles!
Sly Stallone as Jack Carter by Nate Niles. He’s a young artist to watch for. Nate was “introduced” to me by Jarrod Alberich, The Yard Sale Artist. The two of them created Hamilton Vs. Burr: A Werewolf Tale!
Sly Stallone as Jack Carter by Gary Shipman!
Gary Shipman is a self taught artist and writer. Shipman has been nominated for Eisner, Harvey and Russ Manning awards. When I saw that Gary Shipman was regularly doing sketchcard (and other) commissions on WhatNot, I decided to try to get one. As you can see above from Shipman’s riff on Sly Stallone as Jack Carter, I succeeded.
You can see more of Gary Shipman’s art at his webpage, his Instagram page and on his Whatnot stream.
Rambo by Tim Shinn!
Tim Shinn is a freelance artist. He’s known for his storyboarding, advertising and comic work. Tim’s done art for Hasbro, Disney, Dark Horse and Fun Publications. Tim takes commissions and regularly posts art for sale. When I saw this sketch of Sly Stallone as Rambo, I didn’t hesitate. Hopefully there will be more Tim Shinn art in my future. You can see more of Tim Shinn’s art on his Instagram page and his Twitter feed.
Sly Stallone as Jack Carter by Brian Shearer!
Brian Shearer is a professional artist/illustrator. He is best known for his art on titles such as G.I. Joe, Transformers, Dr. Who as well as his creator-owned graphic novels, Gunship Thunderpunch and William the Last. When I saw that Brian was doing live-stream sketch sessions, I jumped on board and got his awesome take as Sly Stallone as Jack Carter. You can see more of Brian’s art at his website or his Twitter posts.
Sly Stallone as Superman by Adam Hughes!
When I got my first sketch from Adam Hughes, I simply told him I wanted Sylvester Stallone and he could pick the character he wanted to draw. Adam surprised me with his knowledge that there was talk of Sly playing Superman. I love the art (how could I not, it’s Adam Hughes!) and the quote with the caption is icing on the cake!
Jack Carter & John Wick by Alex Riegel!
Alex Rigel is back with his take on Sly Stallone as Jack Carter and Keanu Reeves as John Wick. What a team-up! If you’d like to see more of Alex’s art, check out his Instagram!
Rocky by Dean Beattie!
Rocky by Dean Beattie is one of the commissions I got from Dean when he opened up a commission list. I jumped on board, got this beauty, a Jack Carter & John Wick piece a Rambo head sketch and two of his sketchbooks. I’ll post the other art soon. If you’d like to see more of Dean’s art you can at his webpage or his Instagram.
