Sly vs Ali

The March 21, 2003 issue of Entertainment Weekly contains an article entitled “Oscars 20 Most Memorable Moments.” The picture to the left and following text appear in it.
1977 A long-shot Best Actor nominee for the boxing drama Rocky, Sylvester Stallone probably wasn’t expecting any golden trophies. He definitely wasn’t expecting to be joined on stage by heavyweight champ Muhammad Ali. “I’m the real Apollo Creed!” Ali exclaims, pseudo-sparring with the Italian Stallion. “Show me what you can really do!”

Sly and Harry

HARRY KNOWLES is the man behind the Ain’t It Cool News website. Over the years he has got to meet many, many stars. He’s been flown to locations to be on set during filming and he’s been wined and dined at movie premieres. Until today I’ve never really been envious. Today HARRY spent time on the set of “Spy Kids III” with SYLVESTER STALLONE! Not only did HARRY get to hang out with SLY for about five hours. but he also got to watch filming with his good buddy ROBERT RODRIGUEZ! For full details click [HERE].

Stallone Set to Play “The Toymaker” for Robert Rodriguez

Sylvester Stallone has signed to play a villain, called the Toymaker, for “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” for Robert Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was quoted as saying…

“I’ve always been a big fan of Sylvester Stallone.  His larger-than-life persona will be a great addition to the ‘Spy Kids 3-D’ universe.”

“Spy Kids 3-D” is set for release next July.

I’m excited that SLY will have the opportunity to work with ANTONIO BANDERAS [again] and ROBERT RODRIGUEZ. RODRIGUEZ is an excellent director and I hope that this is just the first time that SLY teams with him!

Drago to Return?

From Dark Horizons today:

Dolph Lundgrens Next: Confucius say – Dolph‘s career fell in woods and no-one around to hear it, did it make sound?  Guess not. The 45 year-old 6’6″ Swede has three projects set for release this year and recently discussed one of those with B & K Sports Magazine – “I’ve done Alien Agent. I play a man who must stop a gateway opening between two galaxies. It’s a science fiction movie of sorts. Sidney Furie is the director, and we have an amazing cast”. Direct to video you say? Maybe, but another project he may be involved in won’t be so misfortunate: “Sly‘s writing a new Rocky. The 6th one, and tells me he’s going to try and write Ivan Drago in it. There’s no way I’d miss out on an opportunity on sparring with Balboa again. In my opinion, Rocky IV, was one of the best Rocky sequels. Not the least – the better of my films. If we can get those two guys back in the ring again, we could have something special. And from what Sly tells me, it’s going to be good. I look forward to doing it”. Thanks to ‘Daeagel’

Thanks to John La Cour who was first with the tip and to the many others who also sent it in!
