On January 23, 2012, Business Insider posted a piece titled Ten Actors Who Hated Their Own Films. Leading off the piece, is a quote from Sly about Stop or My Mom Will Shoot!

• 1. Sylvester Stallone, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. Sly doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to his film career. Despite co-starring with the delightful Estelle Getty as the titular violence-prone mother, Stallone knows just how bad the film was:

• “I made some truly awful movies. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot was the worst. If you ever want someone to confess to murder, just make him or her sit through that film. They will confess to anything after 15 minutes.”

On November 22, 2011, What Culture posted a piece called, “10 Films I Can Barely Believe Are Real.” Included on the list of less-than-classic movies was “Stop! Or My Mom or Shoot.”
