Hey SZoners, earlier this week I received an e-mail from long-time SZoner, Rob Hoskins…

Last night Sly sent out a series of tweets (seen above) that puts to rest the speculation on Mel Gibson (or John Woo) as the director of Expendables 3.
According to Sly, he found an EXCITING director… a young lion who Sly believes can help make Expendables 3 top Rambo as a pure action film.
Awesome. Can’t wait to hear who it is.

According to Nicole James in her April 18, 2013, piece at Fuse, There Was Almost a Bob Dylan/Sylvester Stallone Collabo.
According to Giorgio Moroder when asked if there was anyone he ever wished he had worked with, gave the following answer:

Sly’s tweet asking…
“…what about Mel Gibson directing EXPENDABLES 3? Opinions anyone ? Curious…..”
… continues to be big news…

It continues to be big news that Sly would like to see Wesley Snipes become Expendable in the team’s third outing.

Mike Torrance aka The Krayola Kidd returns with his Rocky 2 card.
You can see more of Mike’s art at The Daily Sketch with The Krayola Kidd (and if you’ve never checked out Mike’s site, you ought to if only to see his Walking Dead cards!) and his Deviant Art site. Mike is available for commissions and his prices are very reasonable.

Last week we posted links to articles about Sly‘s $1.4 million lawsuit against contractor Mohamed Hadid. This week word comes that the suit was settled for an undisclosed amount. Hadid’s complaints against Sly were also dismissed as part of the settlement.

According to Molly Eichel’s Frank Rizzo to Hit the Big Screen? article posted at Philly.com on April 11, 2013, there’s talk about the potential for Sly and Frank to co-star in a film about former Philly mayor Frank Rizzo.
Keep in mind this is just talk/speculation, but it would be nice to see Sly and Frank together again on the big screen. (You know, Frank could be Expendable.) – Craig
The Tomb starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger has a new name and release date. The Tomb is now The Escape Plan and it will break loose on September 13, 2013.
I like the name change. The Tomb sounded like a horror movie. – Craig
