SLY‘s on the hunt – this time for second blood – as Jack Carter, a Vegas mobster trying to find his brother’s killer. his quest brings him to Seattle, where he reunites with his brother’s wife [RICHARDSON] and daughter [LEIGH COOK]. Carter is a remake of the 1971 British film of the same name, which starred MICHEAL CAINE, who appears here as a club owner. Other cast members include ALAN CUMMING and MICKEY ROURKE, along with GRETCHEN MOL as Carter‘s moll. And behind the scenes, Battlefield Earth producer ELIE SAMAHA hopes to ride STALLONE‘s coattails out of the vanity-project dead end he drove into with JOHN TRAVOLTA.

Sly Stallone is One “Driven” Guy
In the StarPeople section of STAR: SLY STALLONE is one driven guy, all right! He plays a race car driver in his new flick “Driven” and he insists on doing all his own stunts, including driving at speeds over 190 miles per hour. Studio heads have their fingers crossed that the daredevil doesn’t break his neck while the film is being shot. Luckily, SLY has the good sense NOT to do his own crash scenes. He’s leaving those to a body double.”
“Diner to the Stars”
US Weekly has a tidbit called “Diner to the Stars” in the Hot Stuff section. The piece is accompanied by very small pics of SLY, MEL GIBSON, DARYL HANNAH and LEONARDO DICAPRIO. Apparently the above named celebs have all been seen eating at a diner called Roni’s on Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
“GET CARTER” SITE UPDATED!
The official “Get Carter” site has been updated with a ton of stuff to keep even the most hardcore SLY-fan busy until the premiere of “Get Carter” on October 6th!
The site contains a cool “flash” intro, a story synopsis, (tons of) movie stills, web cards (that you can send to friends), production info, a (very nice) trailer, background info about the cast and filmmakers behind the camera, and a message board.
