Everyone is getting on the “Rocky Balboa” bandwagon!
Entertainment Weekly’s August 18, 2006 issue highlights “Rocky Balboa” in the “Things We’re Pumped for in December” section and calls it the “unlikely, but still stirring idea of Stallone climbing back into the ring for ‘Rocky Balboa.'” EW also runs a cropped version of today’s photo with a look at the film.
Here are a couple of excerpts: Adrian’s death “is a dramatic ploy to put Roc at rock bottom” and from Sly, “What they [Mason Dixon’s camp] don’t understand is that Rocky’s got this beast inside, this grief, and to him it’s not a fight, it’s a purging.”

I loved Rocky V…I guess it’s a matter of what hits you. I thought it was real and endearing.
I love the rocky movies and have seen them all many many times but you can’t make a rocky film without adrian period. If this movie has a chance it’s because of peoples expectations of another great rocky story but without adrian it’s not going to be the same.
all i know that if Rock loses I think I speak for everyone when i say then this movie will suck….dont even bother mentioneing “but oh what if there is a great fight”. NO!!!!!!!! Not happening!!
I just read that the Rocky statue has been reinstated to the library steps…for good. Only two people voted against it. My heavens…what other movie ever made this kind of impact thirty years after? I’m proud of you, Sly!
i think it will work well with adrian as all he will feel he has nothing to lose and therefore will go for the last fight, “there is still something in the basement” and the “lets start building some hurting bombs” line has got me so excited about the film. i think it will be rocky back to its best.

I thought 1 through 4 were great. 5 was ruined caused they didn’t fight in the ring. Hopefully 6 will not tarnish the series.
