  7. Whether you’re from US, Canada, Europe or elsewhere please support Sly and Rocky by signing the following which will be sent to Sony/MGM to ensure the film is released WORLDWIDE on December 22nd – rather than the strange spread out schedule that would lead to piracy and will make the box-office gross plummet:

We have talked to Sony and they have said that they will take the idea into account if the numbers were significant enough.

Everyone please sign this and reply so that as many people read this post and sign the petition by it remaining at the top of the boards.

  10. how many people do you need for sony to take into consideration? cos it doesnt seem very busy

  11. i love sly and i love rocky.nothing would make me more happ to see rocky balboa bing a box office smash!

  12. Awsome picture 🙂 looks like Spider Rico is giving him a speech before Rocky’s big fight.
Spider is in a way what Rocky would have been if he hadent gotten the shot 😉

  13. So what’s the deal with the soundtrack? The “Rocky” films are widely notorized for their up-tempo, hard-hitting, sometimes deep-thinking soundtracks…yet no real word on this yet…and a new trailer…it’s October already?

  14. MAN THAT LOOOOOOOOOOKS AMAZING. I was hoping as usual that Rocky has this scene ….just like in the other Rocky’s.

  15. Looks like these blog pics are leading up to the fight! This shot in particular is very emotional. I wonder what Rock is thinking?

  16. Cant waite to see this movie.
I have a really bad feeling about this movie, in the sense that i fear the worse for Rocky at the ned of the movie.
Rocky 1 and V where very sentimental movies and worked on the stories rather than the boxing. Rocky 1 was a film where our hero didnt win the fight but won our hearts. I also read rumors that Rocky was to be originally killed off in Rocky V. Could it be that this film, that is being billed as the final round see the death of Rocky????
We all want to see him win the fight but is that too predicatable and if he loses it ends on a bit of a downer. so could he win but end up dying in the ring and really wining our hearts forever.

Sorry to put things on a downer, just cant help thinking this.

    Win Rocky Win!!!!

  17. Gutsy move indeed and I’d be VERY suprised if they went that route. Be nice to see it as an alternate ending on the DVD if they did shoot it.

Rocky is BACK on the big screen and I’ll be happy with whatever ending Sly goes with. The fact that the final film made it to the cinemas is miracle just like the 1st ROCKY.

    Peace and Blessings,

  18. That Father Carmine?

Anyone know if the Survivor songs Reach and/or Fire Makes Steel have made it onto the soundtrack?

  19. is there any truth to a flash back seen or dream sequence in the movie i have looked all over the net for it to no avail

  20. hey guys!

I am from Vienna and i just wanted to complain about the release date here in Austria but then I read about the petition. I hope its going to work because i would love to see sly on the 22nd of december.

  21. First let me begin by saying that I can’t wait to see this picture. Judging by the release date of 12/22 MGM has alot of faith in “Rocky Balboa” However I do have some concerns…

My biggest question is how will this film work within the “Rocky” chronology? The first film was supposed to be in 1976 with the second fight happening about a year later. The fights with Clubber couldn’t have been more than a few years after that, and that’s when Rocky’s son was born. In Rocky 4 his kid looks to be around 8 and the movie is obviously set in 1984. When Rocky gets off of the plain from the fight with Drago suddenly his kid is in High School. How long was he in Russia? Now for the final chapter. It is 30 yrs from the first fight with Apolo. Is Rocky supposed to be 61? If so why does the actor portraying his son look like he’s in his late teens? Doesn’t somebody pay attention to continuity in this franchise?

Besides that, where along the line does Pauly turn into a loveable goof? He’s an abusive alcoholic in the first two films, which by the way were the only good films from a dramatic standpoint. The next three films in the series made a mockery of Pauly’s character, as well as the franchise.

Back to MGM’s faith in the series. They don’t have alot going for them right now besides the upcoming “Casino Royal.” That may explain the primo opening date. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if we see “Rocky” bumped to early 2007 but I digress.

Finally speeking of faith in the franchise it appears that Talia Shire has lost hers. What has she been in lately? I’m pretty sure it was “Rocky 5.” She must be looking for a paycheck. It’s obvious from the synopsis that Rocky suffers an extreme tragedy. From the absence of Talia’s name on the cast list one can surmise that Adrienne dies. Is that because Shire didn’t agree to be in the film? I can’t see Sly purposefully righting her out, after all who’s name will he yell at the end of the fight?

In the end I’m still excited to see this movie. Hopefully it will answer all the questions left from the first five.

  22. Relax and enjoy the whole thing okay ? It’s for charity.

    lol

    ROCKY IS BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. Maybe they wrote Talia Shire out as she would have been a too obvious reminder of Rocky’s age.
