The news that Sly was in talks to team up with Lionsgate for an animated web series continued to make news this week…

A combination photo shows a detail (L) of a fresco completed by artist Raphael in 1511 titled “The Cardinal and Theological Virtues” at the Vatican Museums May 10, 2012 next to a file photo of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone posing in Beverly Hills September 18, 1995. British media reported that an American student on holiday spotted the resemblance of an onlooker in the fresco, which featured Pope Gregory IX, to actor Sylvester Stallone. The Rambo drawing above is by the very talented Eli Minaya. I met Eli at this year’s MegaCon. I’d never seen Eli’s art before, but decided on the spot to see about getting a con sketch from him. Eli was up for it and Rambo seemed the natural choice. As you can see from the piece above, it was.
You can see more of Eli’s art at his site.

Sly’s recent discussion about his thoughts for a new Rambo adventure have popped up all over…
And many other sites…

On May 2, 2012, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Sylvester Stallone is in negotiations to provide the voice for the lead character in an animated web series called Soul Survivor.
Other sites picked up the report…

On May 3, 2012, IGN debuted The Expendables 2 trailer. As you can imagine it made quite an impact.

Since we were just talking about celebrity artists, this is a fine time to post a Polaroid photo of Sly taken by celebrity artist, Andy Warhol.

On May 3, 2012, Digital Spy took a look at several celebrities who are also artists. Included were Bob Dylan, Anthony Hopkins, Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, and others. Here’s the caption that appeared with Sly’s photo:

On May 2, 2012, Lindsay Johns, in the Daily Mail posted a compelling and heartfelt article: Why Sylvester Stallone Should Not Make Rambo 5.
I get where Lindsay Johns is coming from. Rambo was a perfect bookend to the series… or was it. Perhaps there is another story yet to tell. Rambo is the reluctant warrior. I trust Sly’s instincts… especially when he is at the helm. Few had faith in a final Rocky or Rambo and we all know how they turned out. – Craig
