Frank Stallone: Far from Over

It’s been a great comeback for Stallone.  You’re probably thinking Sly in The Expendables, right?  Well, yeah.  But FranK Stallone has enjoyed a resurgence of his own!  Seems a couple of dj’s in Australia started playing Frank’s 80’s hit “Far From Over” and things took off from there.

A concert in Australia sold out in four minutes, he was flown over first class and found fans all over the outback wanting to see him.  Here’s Frank in an entertaining interview on Australia’s The Circle.  Gotta love it!

Expendables UK Press Conference Coverage

On August 16, 2010, The Den of Geek posted coverage of The Expendables UK press conference.  Here’ s a taste from Sly:

“Well, I have made a lot of career mistakes, a lot and I have made a lot of personal ones too! But the idea is, I never started out to be an action actor. I was an ensemble actor. Rocky was ensemble, F.I.S.T. was ensemble and Paradise Alley was ensemble.  Then along came First Blood and it was the start of something unusual.”

“I think everyone in this room, everyone on the planet, has a regret. That in one moment they made the wrong decision, and sometimes you can just never get your life back on course. And that theme from Rocky Balboa, to Rambo, it just haunts me. Maybe I’m just mono-minded, or limited, but it’s just inextinguishable.”

Sly Mini-Interview

On August 17, 2010, TNTMagazine posted a short interview with Sly.  Here are a couple of quotes:

  • I think I’m past my prime doing dramatic films. It becomes like almost a pathetic cry to be recognized as a serious dramatic actor.   I’ve done my little moment. I’m very proud of the drama in Rocky Balboa – it’s about as deep as I can go – and in Cop Land. I would much rather just direct dramas.
  • I believe the violence is very justifiable. One thing in my films, I kill people that need to be killed. The ones that deserve it, get it and they get it good but the ones that go after women really get it.
