Filmfila.com just posted up 31 new and huge photos from The Expendables. So what are ya waiting for? Click here to see ’em!

Wildammo.com came up with a cool idea. They created movie posters featuring the celebrities that were originally scheduled to appear in the starring roles. So we have Stallone and Schwarzenegger in Face Off, Will Smith in the Matrix and many others. It’s a great idea and really well executed. You can see all of the posters by clicking here.
Thanks to Mark Evanier for the original link.

How can anyone not love the new poster for The Expendables? Want to see a version so big the name should be changed to The Expandables? Click here and check out IMPAwards.com.

Mark Pennington graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in 1985. Upon graduation Mark became a toy designer at Hasbro. Mark created designs for the G.I. Joe line of action figures including a Rocky Balboa GI Joe that never saw production! Mark’s first work as an inker in the comic book industry was for SQP on Judge Dredd!
When I started collecting original sketches of Sly, Mark was one of the first artists that I approached. I was excited to get this Rambo head sketch from him. Earlier this month I posted Mark’s take on Sly as Rambo.
Today we have Mark’s take on Sly as an older Jack Carter. Although we’ll never get a sequel to Get Carter, and it is not a perfect film, Get Carter remains one of my favorite Stallone movies. Sly was perfect as the “bad brother” — the man who knew that he’d taken the wrong path and saw a chance at redemption by finding his brother’s killer and keeping his niece and sister-in-law safe. So I thought it would be cool to get Mark to draw Sly as Jack Carter, but with some more years on him… sort of like Clint Eastwood’s performance in Unforgiven. I couldn’t be happier with the result!

SZoner, Edinho Maga is back with some photos of a Cobra statue he is working on. This is something that he’s doing for himself.
For those new to the StalloneZone, Edinho Maga is quite a success story. Back in March of 2008, Edinho sent me some photos of a Rambo sculpt that he did. I posted a write-up about Edinho’s art.

Edinho’s talent was obvious and it wasn’t long before Hollywood Collectibles worked out a deal for the sculpture to be produced by their company! Since then Edinho and Hollywood Collectibles have teamed on other Rambo and Rocky projects. And to think that it all started because of a post on the StalloneZone!

Thanks to Edinho Maga for once again sharing his talents. Also thanks to Mark and the cool folks at Hollywood Collectibles for providing discounts for SZoners buying the Rocky statue [details here] and the Rambo statue [details here].

That’s a scan of the art that appeared with the listing for the fourth issue of The Expendables prequel comic mini-series written by Chuck Dixon with artist Esteve Polls and cover artist Lucio Parrillo.
The Expendables trade paperback is scheduled to be published the same month. It will combine all four issues of the comic and is available for pre-order here.

SZoner, Gerardo Moreno wanted to make sure that we knew that Tango & Cash is now available on blu-ray.
The funny thing is that earlier this week rumors started appearing that Sly and Kurt Russell were interested in doing a Tango & Cash II. At this point, they are just rumors but the timing couldn’t have been better.

SZoner, Stefano Rondinella is an artist and Sylvester Stallone fan from Sicily. We’ve featured Stefano’s art before and he’s back again with his final version Sly as Rambo painted on stone lava of Etna! You can see the “in-progress” photo here. Thanks to Stefano for sharing his talents with us.

Here’s a link to The Expendables teaser trailer that started running earlier this week.
There is also another shorter teaser that I saw running on a Movie Trailers On-Demand channel through Bright House. It was very short and consisted of Sly‘s voice with still shots of the cast. I have not been able to find it anywhere else. When I do, I’ll post a link. Some fans are calling it the “Ghost Trailer” because Sly refers to The Expendables as ghosts in it, and no one can find it!
