This week we have Sly from The Expendables by Tom Hodges. I discovered Tom’s art through his DA site. I saw that Tom was going to be drawing live on UStream so I commissioned several sketches which will be posted in the coming weeks. Tom still draws regularly on UStream and it’s always a blast watching him sketch and interacting with the crowd.

That’s an autographed mini-poster for “Oscar” starring Sly Stallone. It’s autographed by John Landis, the director of, the very under-rated “Oscar” and so many other fan favorite films.
My pal, Alex surprised me with a package containing it and several other Stallone-related autographs that I’m going to post on the SZ over the coming weeks. Alex, as you’ve probably guessed is also known as LotofSly on the SZ message boards where he also serves as one of our moderators [and now has his own section Me &…]. Alex has met more celebrities than anyone else I know, and he somehow always manages to get photos with them. That’s in addition to being an all-around nice guy… and as nice as Alex is THAT has to be a full time job!
According to a report posted at Movie Hole on February 9, 2012, writer Sean B. Hood (“Conan the Barbarian”) sent out the following tweet:
Could this mean that Sly would be open to another outing as Rambo if the script was right? I could definitely get behind an “Unforgiven” slant on the character.

The big news this week is the confirmation that Arnold has come on board Sly’s next project, The Tomb.
Collider: Arnold Schwarzenegger…
And about a bazillion other sites…

Roberto Smilovitch recently turned 40 and since he’s a super Rocky / Stallone fan, his wife made him a cake suited for the occasion! Happy belated birthday to Roberto!

That’s StalloneZoner, Mike Kunda on the set of the a documentary based on Mike’s excellent [and highly recommended] memoir Cue the Rocky Music. The photo was taken by photographer/reporter Rich Howells for his article “Living the Dream” which details the path that Mike and director Jim Toscano have taken to get the documentary made.
Mike is a long-time supporter and friend of the StalloneZone. Frank Stallone recently wrote…
So, know you know more about Mike, how would you like the opportunity to appear along side him in the Rocky documentary? If you’re a Rocky fan, here’s your chance!

Laist.com recently posted a piece called Sly Stallone and Other Actors Who Reprised Their Roles in Super Bowl Commercials. If you click on the link you’ll see just that.

For years fans hoped to see Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger appear in a movie together. The dream team-up finally occurred in The Expendables. When it was announced that Arnold would be back in a bigger role for The Expendables 2, fans couldn’t believe their luck.
Speaking of luck, what are the odds that both Arnold and Sly would find themselves side by side in a hospital prep room with both going in for shoulder surgery? Not to worry though, once they are healed both Arnold and Sly are set to team once again in The Tomb.

Lance Sawyer makes his third [and hopefully not last] appearance at the StalloneZone, this time with his take on Sly as Jack Carter from “Get Carter.” I’ve been a fan of Lance’s art for a while. Recently I had a chance to purchase a few sketches from him and I could not be happier in how they turned out!
If you’d like to see more of Lance’s art, you can right here.
