Sly’s Trust Fund for his Half-Sister

The news broke this week that Sly had been paying his half-sister, Toni-Ann Filiti,  through a trust fund set up to cover living and medical expenses.  The trust was set up years ago after Ms. Filiti asserted claims for personal injury caused by Sly.  Although Sly ‘vigorously denied and continues to deny and dispute all claims of wrongdoing,’ he was advised by his attorneys that it would be better to pay her than risk scandal.  

Despite Miss Filiti’s allegations, she remained on good terms with Sly.  She would sometimes come to his movie premieres and Sly even helped her son Edd get a role in Cop Land.  There are reports that Miss Filiti had personal problems through the course of her life.  She died last year from lung cancer.

 

 

Hello Reports Sophia Scheduled for Surgery

On October 31, 2012, Hello! Daily News posted a report that Sly and Jennifer’s daughter Sophia will undergo heart surgery in December. 

Sophia is quoted as saying…

  • “I eat really healthy, and as I get more tired than normal, I have to be very careful when doing sports. Now I have to have surgery again because the tissue they put in 16 years ago has widened and I have problems with the valves. If all goes well, I will spend five days in the hospital.”

Our thoughts and prayers will be that all goes well and Sophia makes a speedy recovery.  – Craig

The Way recently posted Rocky Film Star Turns to Christ.  Sly is quoted as saying…

  • “I got back to my Christian roots. After my daughter was born ill in 1996, I turned myself over to the process of believing in Jesus. That conversion experience released me from the pressures of the world… In the past, my ego and worldly temptations took over in my life and I went spiraling out of control. Rather than living like Rocky with some sense of ideal, I didn’t. I thought I was entitled to things but you’re not entitled to anything. You are what you leave behind.”
