On January 29, 2009, Extra, like a bazillion other sites posted the news that Sly plans to return to the big screen as Rambo. What set their report apart was the shoutout that Sly gave to Mickey Rourke:
“Mickey, if anybody deserves an Oscar, it’s you. No question about it. You lived it. You earned it. You deserve it. You’re an incredibly talented man. It’s about time everyone says, ‘You know what. Give it to the winner.'”

On January 29, 2009, 9wsyr.com posted a larger and fuller version of the photo above with the news that Sly has announced he’s returning as Rambo:
“We’re doing another Rambo, but the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country.”
On January 13, 2009, Jason Roestel, of the [Miami] Examiner.com listed his choices for The Top Movies of 2008. “Rambo” came in at #2. In honor of the second place finish here are two quotes from the review:
This is how you bring a hero out of a 20 year retirement Steven Spielberg.
This was the bravest film of 2008.

Mark S. Krzos of News-Press.com out of Fort Myers, Florida listed his Top 25 Movies of 2008. “Rambo” came in at #12. You can see the who list here.
Several critics over at the San Francisco Bay Guardian On-LIne site weighed in with their Favorites from 2008. Jesse Hawthorne selected “Rambo” as one of his and said this:
Rambo (Sylvester Stallone, USA/Germany) Sly captures American destruction and cynicism in half the time as PT Anderson’s meandering There Will Be Blood (2007).
Jeff Allard at ShockTilYouDrop.com lists his choices for Best & Worst Horror Films of 2008. Surprisingly, he places “Rambo” on the Best Film list! Here’s his rationale:
