SZoners Rambo Tat

I received the photo above and e-mail below from SZoner, Samantha:

Hello Mr Zablo,
I have followed your website StalloneZone for many years: I love watching for new pictures and others’ fan art of Stallone, as I have always been a big fan of him. I would love it if you would post a picture of my Rambo tattoo that I got yesterday on your website. It was done by Mike Magee in Thunder Bay, ON and Mike hopefully will be sending a photo to Devries, Stallone’s tattoo artist, so that maybe Stallone may see it as well.
Please let me know,
And thank you so much for your time!

There’s no denying that Samantha is a huge Stallone/Rambo fan! Thanks for sharing your body art, Samantha! – Craig

Rocky’s Adidas Boots

SZoner, Paan checked in with the photo above and…

+++++

Craig,

Adidas released the history book for their internal use in 2008.  They show the boots on a page for  Teofilo Stevenson (Cuban Boxer).  But we, SZONERS, know by heart the person who actually wore and signed these boots.

It’s amazing that they put the word “FIGHT” on the side for him. I hope this information will make everyone smile.

Best regards,

Paan

Thanks Paan! – Craig

Sly and His Toys

SZoner, Hideo is back with some cool new photos of Sly in Japan. Take it away, Hideo:

  • Hi, Craig! It’s HIDEO!
  • I found an interesting interview of SLY.

Please enjoy!

    • P.S. I translated those articles for English speaking persons. But, my English is very poor. Sorry. You can correct my wrong English, please. Take care!

    -About Barney Ross

“The figure released before was well-done, and this Barney Ross is well-done, too!
It becomes better and better, unbelievable! By the way, how about the tattoo? “

(Costume unclothed and Sly saw tattoo.)

“Wow! It is the very movie image. “

    -Watching Rocky3 figure

“This is a figure of Rocky 3, I have this one! “

(Comparing a figure of Rocky balboa with Barney Ross)
“Uuum, I get old, the figure gets old. “

    (Toward the staff)
“Hey! Watch, guys! The position of Barney’s hairline is higher than Rocky!
Oh, my god! Thank you, HOT TOYS! For such a real reproduction!”

    -About HOT TOYS

“Thank you for making wonderful figures of Rocky, Rambo, and this “The
Expendables”. I think HOT TOYS is a world’s best toymaker.”

    -About The Expendables

“I wrote the script, supervised it, and played the leading part. And
this time, I was able to act with my wonderful friends.
I am sure it is the best movie of my works, and I want to say to Japanese fans, “please
enjoy”. And I thank for HOT TOYS having done splendid support that released
    this figure.”

-The time limit for interview was planned until here, but Sly was satisfied with the figure of Barney, and continued talking more.

” I have one idea. I want to propose HOT TOYS, if you can make products with all these quality, to make costumes and replicas of the prop on 1/1 scales! One more. If a figure of Barney is completed, I will sign ten figures and will exhibit at charity auction for underprivileged children. I have exhibited a boxing glove of “Rocky” to charity before.”

    -Dolph Lundgren appears.

(Sly invites Dolph, and showing the figure of Rocky.)
Sly: “Have you ever seen this?”

Dolph: “Yeah, my Drago is like that, too”.

Sly: “The muscles grow well! “

    Dolph: “That’s true! “

    (Toward the coverage staff )
Sly: “Why don’t you make his latest figure?”

Dolph: “Make my thing again! Ha-ha! “

Thanks to Hideo, once again for the great find! – Craig

    Thanks to SZoners!

Back in February of 07, I posted a piece about a StalloneZoner from Thailand named Paan who had a very cool collection of custom-made Stallone mini-standees.  You can imagine my surprise when yesterday I received a surprise package from Thailand containing a full set [plus a few more not seen above] of the Stallone mini-standees.

Earlier in the week I received another unexpected package.  This time it was from Belgium.  That meant that my buddy Alex [who has met more celebrities than most people have met people] had gifted me with a surprise.  And what a surprise it was!  Alex had sent me a personalized photo of Julie Bentz from Rambo.

I am always humbled when I hear from fans who appreciate the StalloneZone.  I love it when I hear of friendships that have formed between folks who would have otherwise never met, but did because of the SZ.  It’s cool to hear from fans who have met Sly or Frank because of something posted on the StalloneZone.  I’ve always said Stallone fans are the best.  And I only say that because it’s true.  Thanks to all of you for making the StalloneZone the #1 Stallone Fan Site in the World.  And a special thanks to Paan and Alex for the surprise gifts! – Craig

    Paul Wintner’s Stallone Props

SZoner, Paul Wintner checked in to show us his latest Stallone props.  That’s Paul in the pic above decked out in his Rambo III stick fighting outfit.  Below is a shot of two of the gun props used in The Expendables.

Paul’s company worked on Slys last three films: Rocky BalboaRambo and The Expendables.  His voice talent did all the voice overs for the trailers and tv spots.  Here’s a link to Paul’s Stallone prop site.  Thanks to Paul for keeping us in the loop. – Craig

    Stallone Still Strong in Poland

I received the following e-mail and thought it would be of interest to SZoners worldwide!
