In an interview at UGO.com, Dolph Lundgren praised Sly in the following exchange:
UGO: You’ve worked with great directors over the years – Roland Emmerich, John Woo, Russell Mulcahey, even Sylvester Stallone – were there any that inspired you more than others during your career?
DOLPH: Sly Stallone was extremely organized and well-prepared, the script – and dialogue – was number one for him. He wrote, directed, and starred in Rocky IV, that’s one hell of a workload. Sly was very sensitive to the “guy in the street’s” taste.
I love it that he spoke of Sly so highly and first. Sly must have really made an impact on Dolph. For the full interview click [HERE].

In a profile [from Business Week Online for October 3, 2005] of David Pecker, chairman and CEO of American Media Inc., which publishes of The National Enquirer, The Star, Shape, and Sly [and other mags]; Pecker had this to say about working with celebs: “But ‘to tell you the truth, it hasn’t been fun” dealing with celebs, says Pecker. “Sly‘s been unbelievably aggressive” in his demands for his magazine.”
I find that quote absolutely refreshing. If you read the profile, you’ll see that magazines are in a battle to stay alive. Circulations are down. The fact that Sly is taking a REAL interest in giving his magazine personality and HIS distinct voice shows a genuine passion. Whether of not the mag goes past the initial 3 planned and published issues won’t be because Sly didn’t do his part.
