The big news this week is that Jim Caviezel has joined Sly and Arnold in their soon-to-start production film, The Tomb. Caviezel will play the warden of the high security prison.

This week we have Sly from Oscar by Thom Zahler. I was introduced to Thom at HeroesCon 2011 and to his art through his Love an Capes website. In addition to being an artist and writer, Thom is a great entertainer. He’s funny and does a better Shatner than the guy on the Priceline commercials.

That’s an autographed photo of Renny Harlin who directed Sly in Cliffhanger.
My pal, Alex surprised me with a package containing it and several other Stallone-related autographs that I’m going to post on the SZ over the coming weeks. Alex, as you’ve probably guessed is also known as LotofSly on the SZ message boards where he also serves as one of our moderators [and now has his own section Me &…]. Alex has met more celebrities than anyone else I know, and he somehow always manages to get photos with them. That’s in addition to being an all-around nice guy… and as nice as Alex is THAT has to be a full time job!

On February 17, 2012, Mike Walker at The National Enquirer posted a piece titled, Bruce & Sly Stage a Senior Slam-Down. According to the piece, Bruce and Sly were out to dinner and decided to stage an impromptu arm-wrestling match to decide who was in better shape… or maybe it was to see who picked up the tab?

MovieHole recently decided to put Lock Up head-to-head against Escape from Alcatraz. I’m a huge Clint Eastwood fan, but I prefer Lock Up. Of course, this is the StalloneZone, not the EastwoodZone. – Craig

Remember when Sly was interested in getting a film adaptation of Franz Werfel’s The Forty Days of Musa Dagh going? Well, Yigal Schleifer at The Atlantic does and quotes Sly in his piece Armenia’s Doomed Quest to Recruit Steven Spielberg

According to this report at NowGamer, Ubisoft is planning to do an Expendables 2 game. Although this is still a rumor, evidence is pretty strong that the game is at the very least, in development.

On February 15, 2012, The Winnipeg Free Press ran a piece titled, “The Other Stallone” which was of course, about Frank. If you read the article, you’ll discover that Frank is booked to play the Pyramid Cabaret on Friday, March 2nd and a bit more.

This week we have Sly from The Expendables by Tom Hodges. I discovered Tom’s art through his DA site. I saw that Tom was going to be drawing live on UStream so I commissioned several sketches which will be posted in the coming weeks. Tom still draws regularly on UStream and it’s always a blast watching him sketch and interacting with the crowd.
