Sly Develops New Clothes Line Called Stallone

On March 24, 2011, Men’s Week posted a piece about Sly starting his own line of clothing.   Here are a few quotes from the full piece:

  • Sylvester Stallone… “has created a new business to develop Stallone, a men’s lifestyle brand, for launch in 2012.”
  • The business, appropriately named Sly Inc., is owned by Stallone, veteran beauty and retail executive Michael Henry and other unidentified financial backers.
  • Stallone said the first time he personally became “truly involved in style,” was between “Rambo 2” and “Rambo 3” when he underwent a “huge weight change,” dropping from 185 to 160 pounds. “Nothing fit so I started buying custom clothing. I found out I really like this world.”
  • Among the first categories to be introduced will be jeans, shirts, outerwear, underwear and watches, he said. That will be followed by eyewear, grooming products, fragrance, activewear and athletic shoes.
  • Stallone said that while the Rocky and Rambo characters were “very, very urban,” his brand will be designed to appeal to a broad base of customers. “I want clothing that will be appropriate to my generation,” said the 64-year-old actor, “or the generation before.”
  • The line is expected to be targeted to midtier department stores such as Macy’s, Henry said, and will be “a little premium,” although specific retail price points have yet to be determined. “This is a brand for a guy’s guy.”

As you can imagine, other sites picked up the story…

SZoner Mike Kunda is “Living the Dream”

That’s StalloneZoner, Mike Kunda on the set of the a documentary based on Mike’s excellent [and highly recommended] memoir Cue the Rocky Music.  The photo was taken by photographer/reporter Rich Howells for his article “Living the Dream” which details the path that Mike and  director Jim Toscano have taken to get the documentary made.

The article is definitely worth a read.  Congrats to Mike for “Living the Dream!”

The House that “Rocky” Built

On March 21, 2011, eCanadaNow posted a piece called “List of Most Expensive Celebrity Homes” and Sly’s house was discussed along with the homes of Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez and Billy Joel.  Here is what they had to say about Sly’s house:

  • Sylvester Stallone has a home that looks like a huge hotel from the driveway and is worth a whopping ten million dollars. His home is often referred to “The House That Rocky Built.”
