I don’t know about you, but I have pre-ordered mine!

Otis Frampton: Cop Land

Otis Frampton’s art is no stranger to the StalloneZone.  I’ve told you about Otis’ 7-7-7 Sundays before.  I’ve been fortunate enough to get three previous sketches from OtisRambo, Jack Carter and Cosmo CarboniYou can see them here.

I finally got to meet Otis in person at Heroes Con last year.  When Otis attends conventions he has sketchbooks that he sells for a buck each.  Yep, one buck.  And to make the deal even more enticing, Otis includes a free headsketch.  For mine he did Freddy from Cop Land.  I would have gladly paid a buck a piece to have Otis draw Sly from every movie he’s done, but the idea is to get new fans to give Otis’ work a look.  So instead, whenever I ran into a friend who’d never heard of Otis I’d slap a buck down and buy ’em a copy of the sketchbook with a free headsketch.  Luckily none of them requested Sly, or I might have had to keep the copy for myself.  ; )

Thanks to SZoners!

Back in February of 07, I posted a piece about a StalloneZoner from Thailand named Paan who had a very cool collection of custom-made Stallone mini-standees.  You can imagine my surprise when yesterday I received a surprise package from Thailand containing a full set [plus a few more not seen above] of the Stallone mini-standees.

Earlier in the week I received another unexpected package.  This time it was from Belgium.  That meant that my buddy Alex [who has met more celebrities than most people have met people] had gifted me with a surprise.  And what a surprise it was!  Alex had sent me a personalized photo of Julie Bentz from Rambo.

I am always humbled when I hear from fans who appreciate the StalloneZone.  I love it when I hear of friendships that have formed between folks who would have otherwise never met, but did because of the SZ.  It’s cool to hear from fans who have met Sly or Frank because of something posted on the StalloneZone.  I’ve always said Stallone fans are the best.  And I only say that because it’s true.  Thanks to all of you for making the StalloneZone the #1 Stallone Fan Site in the World.  And a special thanks to Paan and Alex for the surprise gifts! – Craig

Paul Wintner’s Stallone Props

SZoner, Paul Wintner checked in to show us his latest Stallone props.  That’s Paul in the pic above decked out in his Rambo III stick fighting outfit.  Below is a shot of two of the gun props used in The Expendables.

Paul’s company worked on Slys last three films: Rocky BalboaRambo and The Expendables.  His voice talent did all the voice overs for the trailers and tv spots.  Here’s a link to Paul’s Stallone prop site.  Thanks to Paul for keeping us in the loop. – Craig

Earlier this week I received an e-mail from Lisa at IGN

To celebrate the best of the summer box office, IGN recently released its 3rd annual “Summer Movie Awards” that honors the best heroes, villains, babes, weapons, creatures and more, to have hit the big screen since May.

As you can imagine, The Expendables won some awards…

Coolest Gunfight – Hale Caeser mows ‘em down – The Expendables

Congrats to Sly, the cast and crew of The Expendables.  To see the full list of awards and winners, you know the drill.

Stallone Fan Art

SZoner, Sherry Hutchinson is back with a piece she calls Surreal Stallone.  Take it away, Sherry

Craig,
Well, here is the latest.  It is a bit different.  Kind of a morph of Rocky, Rambo and Expendables.  His chest is the 1955 Ford from Expendables.  Also see Oscar, Philly steps, Rambo knife, raven, live simply whale, weights and Butkus.
Could you ask for comments to be sent to sherry_hutchison@yahoo.com?  I love to hear what people think.
Thanks,
Sherry
I love the thought that went into this one.  Thanks for sharing your talents. – Craig
